Brother Hen Chandara is the director of Pure Religion Orphanage and also serves as the director and president of One In Love Ministries (a local Cambodia NGO devoted to serving the health and humanitarian needs of the impoverished). Dara rejected Buddism in 1992 and became a believer in Jesus Christ. Since that time, he has been led through a variety of experiences and has served as a soldier, a teacher, and finally as a preacher of the gospel. From 1999 until 2003, Dara was employed by a Four Square Gospel orphanage in Kampong Thom and in that capacity he developed a clear vision of how he believed a Christian orphanage should be operated.
In June, 2007, in God's providence Dara met with Jamey and Joseph in the country of Vietnam. After discussing the needs of orphans and churches in Cambodia on that occasion Dara began to pray that God would open the door for a cooperative ministry. In November of 2007, Elders Tucker and Weyel arrived in Cambodia and began teaching the message of God's sovereign grace in the salvation of sinners. Dara has embraced these doctrines as the foundation of his understanding and of the works of Christian service that have shaped his life and ministry.
In January 2008, Dara's prayers were answered as Pure Religion Orphanage of One In Love Ministries was established in his home town of Stoung, Kampong Thom. Dara has joyfully served the orphans of PRM along with his wife, Savun Dam and three children Zephaniah, David and Ruth since that time.
