"And if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness be as the noonday: And the Lord shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not. And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in." - Isaiah 58:10-12

Building Project:

SIEM REAP, CAMBODIA, October 31, 2009:

After much prayer and discussion among interested parties, we have located a parcel of land available for purchase near the current orphanage location in Stoung. The property is near to National Road #6 and immediately adjoins the public high school grounds.

It is our hope to purchase either one or two hectares (2.5 or 5 acres) on which to build dormitories, classrooms, kitchen and dining facilities, and play equipment. Additional land will be utilized for gardening and vocational training which will be provided to the children as well as offered to interested youth within the community.

For information about the financial requirements of these efforts or for information about volunteering to assist in these projects, please contact us.

Additional Children and Budget Adjustments:

STOUNG, KAMPONG THOM, CAMBODIA, October 1, 2009:

We are pleased to announce the addition of 2 new children at PRM orphanage bringing our total number of students to 18. In the 21 months since beginning our effort here, we have witnessed a remarkable change in the children as they have grown both physically, educationally, and spiritually in a manifest way.

When the orphanage first opened its doors in January 2008, we took responsibility for 12 children. Our original budget was based upon the food and clothing costs for that number of children and the anticipated additional incidentals which may be encountered. As noted above, the number of children cared for has been increased by half to a new total of 18. Furthermore, due to the worldwide financial crisis, the operational costs for the facility have increased and the cost of food continues to rise.

With this in mind, we have been forced to re-examine our budget and increase the monthly committment to a new level. Please keep this in mind as you are praying about your contributions to this work. The current monthly budgeted cost for support of the facility works out to about 95 USD per student.
